Litera Meat is the largest and newest headquarters of the Pini Group in Binéfar (Huesca) Spain, one of the fastest growing private European group of companies specialized in pork slaughtering, currently processing 6,5 million pigs per year.

The sustainable growth of the Pini Group is due to the strong ties of a traditional hardworking italian family, built upon three generations of trust and companionship.

The natural outcome of this solid foundation and progress combined with the support of over 5.000 in staff enabled the group to achieve a continuous expansion of slaughterhouse and processing facilities across Europe.

The Pini Group was founded in 1982 and Litera Meat is the culmination of four decades of innovative tradition and the sole largest and most modern pork slaughterhouse cutting plant in Europe.

Litera Meat’s activity comprises the slaughter, cutting, packaging and marketing of pork, both nationally and internationally. Its innovative facilities allow it to meet current market demands while prioritising quality and food safety at all times during the production process.

QUALITY


Litera Meat has a certified internal laboratory with ISO/ IEC 17025 certification in microbiological controls. It is divided into several areas: an in-house laboratory to analyse trichinella, a trichinoscopy area, a microbiology laboratory, a water analysis laboratory and its corresponding waste area.

The team is responsible for assessing and documenting efficiency, safety and quality during the different processes.
