Opened in late 2019, Litera Meat is the first slaughterhouse developed by the Pini Group in Spain. Since Litera Meat started operating, its business activities have speeded up, and it has established major trade agreements and consolidated its operations in a territory in which the agri-food industry is a strategic sector. This increase in business activity was in line with a progressive increase in manpower, totaling over 1,600 direct employees working in the various departments.

Thanks to the international, recognized reputation of the Pini Group, Litera Meat has a strong focus on exports and has close trade relationships with major international brands.

Litera Meat has built in record time an extremely strong commercial network, projecting its brand name to the most significant meat markets and reaching five continents: Asia, America, Africa, Oceania and Europe.

We work each and every day to be a reference within the meat industry, both domestically and internationally. Moreover, we are committed to making decisions in a socially-responsible way to help improve and enhance our environment and build long-term, stable relations with our stakeholders.

Litera Meat has an internal laboratory that is divided into several areas: an in-house trichinella testing laboratory, a microbiology laboratory and a water testing laboratory with its corresponding waste area. The lab team is responsible for assessing and documenting efficiency, safety and quality during the different processes.

Moreover, Litera Meat’s Sanitary Service was accredited by the General Directorate of Health Assistance of the Government of Aragón to widen its assistance offer, authorising the company’s internal laboratory to do COVID-19 diagnostic tests.
